Governor's Coalition for Youth with Disabilities (GCYD) Logo Contest for Students with Disabilities

GCYD is holding a logo contest and we would like HS students to submit their logos and artwork for consideration. Below are the rules for our GCYD logo contest. Please share with your schools and your consumers who are still in HS. Our goal is to find a new logo for the Governor's Coalition for Youth with Disabilities that we will use on our website, letterhead, etc., that has been created by a youth. Harvard University Announcement

No tuition and no student loans

We have been running some very successful yoga classes and strengthening/coordination classes for kids with and without special needs that your group may be interested in.  They are lively classes that the kids have a lot of fun in at a very reasonable cost. I am currently in the process of adding additional class times so anyone can visit our website at  for the info on any new classes.  Thanks!

Jumping Beans and Strong to the Core

For children 4 to 12 years old who have had mild to moderate difficulties with strength, endurance, coordination and/or weight control.  Classes are 45 minutes of structured exercise designed to promote individual success and minimize competition while having fun doing kid friendly games and activities.  There will be a maximum of 8 children per class.  Individualized activities for your child will be integrated into the program to address your child’s specific needs.  Approximately every 7 weeks, class will focus on healthy eating habits with a licensed nutritionist.

Jumping Beans for 4 to 6 year olds: Mondays 1:45 p.m.
Strong to the Core for 6 to 12 year olds Mondays:  4:30 p.m.

Yoga promotes strength, flexibility, balance and coordination as well as attention, relaxation, and body awareness.  As children transition through postures and try new poses, they improve their concentration, self awareness, and self esteem.
Yoga groups are designed for kids with both typical and special needs.  Classes are instructed by a licensed physical therapist with specialized training in yoga for children with special needs.  Class size is limited to 6 participants, although parents are welcome to join in the experience with their child.  Individual sessions are also available for infants and children.
Mondays:  9:45 a.m.
Tuesdays:  4:30 p.m.
Thursdays:  1:30 a.m.
